Course Description
Continue your paddling progression in this 2-day course focusing on solidifying skills and gaining experience on more difficult class-III water. Learn more advanced scouting skills, techniques for reading more challenging water, and boating skills for managing larger rapids. Canyon River Instruction is hosting this course in partnership with our colleague Tommy Gram of Whitewater Attainment.
Students need to have taken an Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking course, and Whitewater Skills Development course or possess similar experience. Canyon River Instruction also offers Private Kayak and Packraft Instruction on the Arkansas River with Tommy on select Thursdays throughout the summer.

Prerequisites
18-years of age or older or 16-years of age with adult accompaniment
Have taken an Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking course and Whitewater Skills Development course or similar experience
Boaters should be confidently paddling class-II
Kayakers should be working towards or have a successful river roll
Packrafters should have basic self-rescue skills, including methods of getting back into their craft after a swim
